The American Hairless Terrier originated in Louisiana in the United States. This breed of feist is derived from a Rat Terrier, and the breed actually traces its lineage to one single Rat Terrier that was born in 1972. Due to a genetic anomaly, this Rat Terrier’s puppies were all born without hair. And thus, the breed was born.
