It has been said for years that your common octopus is extremely smart. Their intelligence has been tested multiple times, with similar conclusions being reached every time. They are able to solve complex puzzles and find their way out of hard mazes, with progressively difficult standards.

It is theorized that while Octopi are capable of handling complex issues, they forget how they solve them after a lack of exposure.
